The Friends of Elwyn Ball raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for Elwyn’s programs and services for children, adults and seniors with disabilities.

This year’s gala will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt at the Bellevue, located in Center City Philadelphia. The co-chairs for the Ball are Daniel Hilferty, the CEO and President of Independence Blue Cross, and his wife Joan. The gala itinerary includes a 500 person, three-course dinner with a menu featuring Philadelphia-centric delicacies, a sampling of fine cheeses provided by International Food Distributors, musical entertainment by Chico’s Vibe, and a visit by a well-known Mummer string band.

State Representatives Thomas Killion and Steve Barrar and Chester City Mayor John Linder will be attending this year’s event.

“The Ball raises awareness of Elwyn,” Elwyn Development Coordinator, Natalie Busillo, said. “It’s our (Elwyn’s) largest fundraising event of the year and it supports the top-quality care that we provide at Elwyn.”

Following the Ball, guests head over to the Red and Clover Room for the Elwyn Bounce. The event, now in its third year, is a club-like, gala after-party. Organized by Elwyn’s Young Professionals Bounce Committee, this year’s Bounce features two top-shelf bars, hors d’oeuvres and live music by Lost in Paris.
