With the sound of a starting gun, the spring/summer charity season for Team Screwball, Team McGraw's Media-based group, is now in full swing. As I stood in my corral at the on Sunday, highly anticipating my turn to cross the start line with 40,000 of my closest running buddies, I couldn't help but think, "Here we go. Here's to a 10-mile race. Here's to Team McGraw. Here's to Team Screwball."
I was happy to represent my beloved hometown team in the nation's largest 10-mile race. As I got into the groove, and was strutting down Broad at my ideal clip, I had extra momentum that day. I was overwhelmed by the camaraderie of this team and this cause, a feeling I have often felt since linking up with them a few years ago. It's something that means so much to me, and so much to the Media community.

Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. - Media 5 Mile Race - For the 3rd year in a row, Team Screwball will lace up and hit State Street running to raise money for Tug McGraw Foundation for brain cancer research. The past two years have been a blast. We love our sideline crew, and really appreciate all the hooting and hollering as we run this course (very hilly, quite hard, as any of us can tell you). The pre-race and post-race parties will be at The Plumstead (conveniently the race start line), and we may have a very special raffle, so stay tuned!
