Media Celebrates Bike to Work Day

On Friday, May 17, Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) and the Delaware County Planning Department partnered up for Bike to Work Day.

It was a picture perfect day for the dozens of cyclists left their cars at home and rode their bikes to work instead in celebration of Bike to Work Day.

On Friday, May 17, Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) and the Delaware County Planning Department partnered up for Bike to Work Day.  Cyclists enjoyed refreshments during the morning celebration held
outside the County Courthouse.  Wawa, Trader Joe’s, and Main Line Water provided water, orange juice, and fresh fruit.  Participants also entered into a
special raffle for prizes donated by local businesses, including Cycle Sport, Drexel
Hill Cyclery, Bryn Mawr Running Co., 320 Café, Custom Bagels, Dos Gringos, Iron
Hill, Planet Hoagie, Salad Stop, and Seven Stones.


Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union was the main sponsor of Bike to Work Day.

DCTMA is a private, non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to improving the transportation networkserving the county. The DCTMA provides a forum where employers and municipalities as well as local, county and state agencies and transit authorities can cooperatively address transportation issues and coordinate cost-effective and efficient transportation management strategies for  Delaware County. Through coordinated planning and cooperative efforts, the DCTMA helps to promote a cleaner, healthier environment, to sustain the quality of life, and to enhance the economic vitality of Delaware County.

The mission of the Delaware CountyPlanning Department’s Transportation Planning Section is to improve mobility for all Delaware County residents, employees, and visitors in a manner that provides a choice of travel modes, increases safety, reduces pollution, improves health, enhances communities, and reduces sprawl.
