Where/When: at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Additional showings are at 2 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Why Go: Take in this performance classic perfect for the whole family, with Broadway's Brad Little as Captain Von Trapp, and local favorite Elisa Matthews as Maria. Based on the memoir of Maria Von Trapp, it premiered on Broadway in 1959. Every song from its score became standards known worldwide due to their heartfelt lyrics and melodies. The story of hope and triumph caused “The Sound of Music” to break box-office records with both its stage and film versions. No other musical defines music as the ‘universal language’ more than this spectacular, moving production.
