$16,000 in Toothbrushes Stolen, Police Say

Police issue a warrant for a woman charged in a Kohl's retail theft.

A 47-year-old woman faces charges after police say she stole $16,000 worth of toothbrushes.

Between September and November 2012, Beate Proeller, 47, of Annapolis, MD, stole 200 high-priced electronic toothbrushes from Kohl's department stores in Middletown Township and Morton, according to State Police, who reported the value of the toothbrushes at more than $16,000 retail.

Proeller was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property in District Court 32-2-48 and a warrant was issued for her arrest on Feb. 28, according to State Police.

She created fraudulent price tags and placed them over the original price tags on the products, according to State Police, then the fake price tags would ring up at a value significantly less than the true retail value.

Proeller uses aliases of Beate Proller, Beate Kanamine and Beate Brandl, according to State Police.
