Blotter: 2 Middletown Homes Burglazied

Plus: At least eight daytime burglaries in Delaware County have been reported in the past month, according to police.

The following Middletown and Edgmont township incidents have been supplied by the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Terroristic Threats—Granite Run Mall at about 12:20 p.m. on Dec. 14. Police responded to a report of a motorist pointing a gun at another motorist, according to State Police. An investigation continues.

Burglary—Fox Road in Middletown Township between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 12. Unknown persons gained entry into the residence and removed various items from the home, according to State Police. The investigation remains open.

Burglary—Kirk Road in Middletown Township between Dec. 11-12. The homeowner noticed an upstairs window open at the home they are having constructed, according to State Police. Nothing is currently inside the home except tools and the it was unknown whether any tools were missing, according to State Police.

Theft-Fraud-Forgery—between Oct. 8-Nov. 23. The victim had money taken from his account and wired into another account in his name that was fraudulently opened, according to State Police. This new account was then emptied of all the money, according to State Police.

Police Searching For Thieves Involved In Delco Daytime Burglaries

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Newtown Township Police Chief Chris Lunn sent out the following email, alerting residents about a number of daytime burglaries that have occurred in the past month around Delaware County.

Over the past month, there have been at least eight daytime burglaries in Delaware County, as close as Upper Providence Township and Nether Providence Township involving a suspect vehicle.

The description of the actors in several of the burglaries are described as: a white male with a white female (with dark hair) driver or two white males. They are usually hitting between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. 

The majority of the entries are forced with some being unlocked doors. In one of the burglaries, the victim encountered a man in his house and chased him down the street where he was observed entering a maroon vehicle and leaving the area. He was described as being approximately 5’11", 170 lbs. and approximately 25 years old. He was wearing sunglasses, a baseball hat and possibly gloves.

If you see any unusual activity, please call 911 immediately and provide as much information as possible.
