Blotter: Man Steals 2 Laptops from Staples

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Controlled Substance—Mt. Alverno Road at about 10:41 p.m. on Aug. 7. Police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle violation and following an on-scene investigation concluded that the driver, a 22-year-old Aston woman, and the passenger, a 26-year-old Parkside man, were in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, according to State Police. Both were arrested and charges will be filed, according to State Police.

Criminal Mischief—5000 block of West Chester Pike in Edgmont Township between Aug. 1 and 6. Unknown persons burned the victim's flag and caused damage to the victim's business sign, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— on West Chester Pike in Edgmont Township at about 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 5. A black man between the ages of 40 and 50 entered the store and removed two laptop computers from the display, according to State Police. The man, who was between 5 foot 5 inches and 5 foot 7 inches in height, used an unknown tool to cut off the security cables attached to the computers, concealed them under his shirt and fled the scene, according to State Police. The value of the computers was $1,024.98, according to State Police.

Two-Vehicle Crash—Route 352 near Valley Road at about 11:35 p.m. on Aug. 5. A Mitsubishi Eclipse failed to stop for a stop sign and was struck by a Nissan Sentra, according to State Police. No one was injured and the driver of the Eclipse was cited for a traffic violation, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at at about 5:20 p.m. on Aug. 3. A Chester woman walked into the store and attempted to steal two pairs of shoes valued at $80, according to State Police. Jahnequa Anisse Bennett was taken into custody and charged in connection with retail theft.

Criminal Mischief—500 block of Fairview Avenue between Aug. 2 and 3. The front windshield of a vehicle was smashed by an unknown object, according to State Police. The total value of damage was about $200, according to State Police.

Assault-Propulsion of Missile—Route 1 at the Wawa Bridge at about 7:07 p.m. on Aug. 2. An Aston man was driving south on Rt. 1 when unknown persons threw a hard object at the vehicle, according to State Police. The object struck the front driver side window, causing it to shatter, according to State Police.

Theft—5100 block of West Chester Pike in Edgmont Township between July 27 and 30. Unknown persons removed multiple pieces of brass and copper with a total value of $2,155, according to State Police.
