Blotter: Security Cameras Killed, $400 Taken in Edgmont CC Burglary

Plus: A lawnmower was stolen from a resident's open garage.

 

The following Middletown and Edgmont township incidents have been supplied by the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Burglary—Edgmont Country Club on West Chester Pike between Oct. 7-8. Unknown persons broke into the country club through a second story window and once inside ransacked the manager's office and ripped down a surveillance camera that was flush mounted on the ceiling, according to State Police. The persons then went into an office down the hallway and unplugged a power outlet that supplied power to all surveillance and computers on that floor, according to State Police. The persons then entered the Accounts Receivable Office and ransacked that room as well, opening drawers and tossing papers to the ground, according to State Police. About $400 was taken from the country club and the persons fled through a basement door, according to State Police.

Theft—Riddle Village Apartments at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 4. Unknown persons stole an 88-year-old woman's cell phone and driver's license from an unattended purse, according to State Police.

Burglary—1000 block of Forest Lane in Edgmont Township between 8 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 4. Unknown persons used a brick to smash a window pane of a rear door in an attempt to gain entry to the house but were unable to, due to unseen additional locks, according to State Police.

Burglary-Residential—Valley Road in Edgmont Township at about 5 p.m. on Oct. 3. An unknown person arrived at the residence in a white pick-up truck, observed an unsecured garage and removed a lawnmower, according to State Police.

Theft—200 block of Lungren Road in Middletown Township between Sept. 22-24. An unknown person stole a gray, Big-T landscape trailer with a gate and 15-inch tires, according to State Police. The Pennsylvania registration on the trailer is XHA9933. If anyone has any information, please call police.

ID Theft—Charter Oak Drive in Edgmont Township at about 1:43 p.m. on Sept. 21. A check was cashed as a result of a theft that occurred on Sept. 20, according to State Police. The victim had $1,800 taken from her checking account, according to State Police.
