Blotter: Stolen Car Recovered in Hit-And-Run Crash

No one was injured in the two-car crash.

The following Middletown and Edgmont township incidents have been supplied by the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

 

Hit-And-Run Crash—Pennell Road near Glen Riddle Road at about 3:21 p.m. on Dec. 10. A Honda Accord was stopped for traffic and a Hyundia Elantra, driven by Andru Fretz, 20, of Chester, attempted to stop but struck the Accord in the rear, according to State Police. The Accord pulled over but Fretz fled onto Route 452, according to State Police. Aston and Upper Chichester Township Police stopped Fretz on the 400 block of Story Road in Upper Chichester Township, according to State Police. Fretz was taken into custody and charged with accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, drivers required to be licensed, driving vehicle at unsafe speed and duty to give information and render aid, according to State Police. The Elantra was found to be stolen out of Marcus Hook, according to State Police. Concord Towing removed the vehicle and Marcus Hook was notified. No one was injured and all drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts.

One-Vehicle Crash—Dutton Mill Road at Creek Road at about 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 9. A Brookhaven man, driving a Ford Mustang, failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a utility pole. No one was injured.

DUI—Route 1 near Route 452 at about 1:03 a.m. on Dec. 9. A 25-year-old Lambertville, NJ woman was arrested for DUI.

Attempted Burglary—Tobin Feed and Seed between Dec. 9-10. An unknown person attempted unsuccessfully to gain entry through a side door, according to State Police.

DUI—Barren Road near Chapel Hill at about 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 7. A traffic stop was initiated for violations of the PA vehicle code and the driver, a Media man, exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police.
