Blotter: Tractor Struck While Making U-Turn

Plus: A man suspected of DUI attempts to flee the scene of a separate crash, police say.

The following Middletown and Edgmont township incidents have been supplied by the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

 

Criminal Mischief—1200 block of Wakefield Court in Edgmont Township between Jan. 19 and 20. Unknown persons knocked down three mailboxes in the area, according to State Police.

DUI Crash/Hit-and-Run—Route 352 at Valley Road at about 8:52 p.m. on Jan. 19. A 19-year-old Glenolden man rear-ended another vehicle and attempted to flee before his vehicle became disabled, according to State Police. The man was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance, according to State Police.

Two-Vehicle Crash—West Chester Pike at Sandy Flash Drive at about 10:10 a.m. on Jan. 17. A Peterbilt Tractor was making a U-turn in the intersection and a Saturn SL2 was traveling west on Rt. 3. The driver of the Saturn, a 91-year-old West Chester man, looked away and struck the tractor in the rear, according to State Police. Both the Saturn and the tractor pulled off to the shoulder. No one was injured in the crash and the driver of the Saturn received a careless driving violation, according to State Police.

Criminal Mischief—Beverly Lane in Edgmont Township on Jan. 17. Unknown persons deliberately drove a truck over a lawn and destroyed the grass, according to State Police.
