Car Mirror Damaged in Hit-and-Run, Police Say

Also, a car tire blew out on Route 1 in a separate incident.

Here is a recent incident in Upper Providence Township reported by the Upper Providence Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

 

Disabled Vehicle—Route 1 near Ridley Creek Road at about 2:22 p.m. on March 18. Police responded to a disabled vehicle on the roadway and found a driver waiting for AAA to respond to change a tire, according to the report. The driver told police she was traveling south on Route 1 when her tire had a blow out, according to the report. Due to the hazardous location, the officer changed the tire on scene and put on the spare, according to the report. The driver was instructed to immediately go to a mechanic garage to double check the torque of the nuts and the rim and damaged rubber, which had a large piece of metal impaled in it, were put in the trunk, according to the report.

Hit-and-Run Crash—Crum Creek Road and Berry Lane at about 7:55 p.m. on March 15. The driver of a Lincoln town car told police he was traveling south on Crum Creek when a gray vehicle traveling northbound was in the middle of roadway and as it passed, the mirrors of the two vehicles made contact, according to the report. The gray vehicle continued on without stopping, according to the report. A gray cover from the drivers side mirror was left behind and officers checked the area but did not locate the vehicle, according to the report. The drivers side mirror on the town car also sustained damage, according to the report.
