Driver Leaves Vehicle in Hit-And-Run Crash, Police Say

Also, copper piping was removed from a Middletown Township residence, police say.

Hit-And-Run Crash—Elwyn Road near Baltimore Pike in Middletown at about 10 p.m. on March 24. A Hyundai Elantra was traveling eastbound on Elwyn Road when it failed to negotiate a curve and hit a utility pole, according to State Police. The vehicle came to a rest against the utility pole, along the right side of the roadway, according to State Police. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene leaving the vehicle behind, according to State Police. It was unknown whether the driver was injured.

Burglary—Hunter Street in Middletown Township between April 2 and 6. Copper piping was cut out and removed from the residence, according to State Police. An investigation continues.

DUI—Baltimore Pike near State Police-Media Barracks at about 2:35 a.m. on March 31. A 21-year-old Coatesville man, driving a 2000 BMW, allegedly committed several vehicle infractions and was pulled over by police, according to State Police. Further investigation showed that the man was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police. Charges will be filed in District Court 32-2-48.
