Ex-Edgmont Bartender Pleads Guilty to Sex Assault on Child

The former bartender was charged in May and pleaded guilty this week, according to news outlets.

A former Edgmont Township bartender pleaded guilty to charges relating to a sexual assault on an 8-year-old child, according to news outlets.

with six counts of aggravated indecent assault, six counts of indecent assault, one count of false imprisonment and three counts of corruption of minors on May 23, according to a State Police criminal complaint affidavit.

According to Delaware County News Network, Hoffman pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse for sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, a felony of the first degree.

Hoffman was renting a room at the victim’s grandmother’s house in Edgmont Township and was a bartender at Locust Crest Tavern, according to the affidavit. He has no listed permanent address.

According to the affidavit, Hoffman touched the female victim inappropriately on more than one occasion and also in the presence of her younger brother on May 18 and 19. The victim and her brother attempted to stop Hoffman but were unsuccessful, according to the affidavit.

Hoffman faces a sentence of four and a half to nine years in a state correctional institution with five years probation under the negotiated plea agreement and must register as a sex offender, according to Delaware County News Network.
