Fire Destroys Vacant Middletown House

An overnight fire destroyed an abandoned house in Middletown Township early Monday morning.

An early morning fire destroyed an abandoned house in Middletown Township Monday. 

The fire occurred around 1 a.m. at 1442 W. Baltimore Pike, near the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. 

According to State Police, the house was abandoned and no one was in the house at the time of the fire.

However, the dwelling was completely destroyed. 

No injuries were reported.

Traffic was shut down for a period of time on both the north and southbound sides of Route 1, according to State Police. 

State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fire.
