Man Killed in Rt. 252 Crash Identified

Police have released the names of those involved in the Tuesday morning two-vehicle crash on Rt. 252 in Upper Providence Township.

Police have released the name of the 31-year-old man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 252 Tuesday morning

Christopher Jenkins, of Upland, was killed at the crash scene at Rt. 252 and Palmers Mill Road near Rose Tree Park, Upper Providence Township Police Chief David Montella said Friday.

Jenkins was driving a Mercury Sable station wagon southbound on Rt. 252 just before 6 a.m. when the car spun out, turned counterclockwise, straddled the two lanes and was struck in the passenger side door by a Western Pest Control pick-up truck, Upper Providence Police Detective Sgt. Michael Langdale said Tuesday. 

The passenger in the station wagon, 25-year-old Tiara Summers, also of Upland, is still listed in critical condition at Crozer Chester Hospital, Montella said Friday.

The driver of the pick up truck, 56-year-old Donald Ryan, of Aston, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from the hospital on Tuesday, Montella said.

The crash remains under investigation.
