Man Uses Counterfeit Bill at CVS, Police Say

Media Police were dispatched to the CVS at 295 E. Baltimore Ave. at about 10:16 a.m. on May 3 for a report of a theft, according to Media Police Chief Martin Wusinich.

A CVS manager told police that a man has been passing counterfeit bills at several CVS locations and the store was notified by its bank that one of the deposits contained a $50 bill that had been bleached and reprinted, according to Wusinich.

This counterfeit transaction was found to have occurred at about 7:10 p.m. on May 1.

The black man, wearing a black baseball cap and black vest, made a purchase for $3.14, paid with the counterfeit bill and then received the change, according to Wusinich.
