Media Patch wants you to get to know your first responders. They do dangerous work and Patch would like to recognize them. This first responder may be following in the family footsteps of becoming a firefighter but he knew he wanted to be a part of the Middletown Fire Company.
Name: Jeffrey Lillie
Hometown: Middletown Township
How long have you been with the Middletown Fire Co.?
Two and half years
What do you like about your job?
I like being able to get out and help people and get them out of difficult situations and home to their families.
What do you dislike about your job?
When a call doesn't end well and there's a tragedy. Some things you just can't shake off.
What inspired you to become a firefighter?
My dad is Chief Chip Lillie and I was here for a fundraiser once and it seemed like a lot of fun and I wanted to be a part of it.
What do you like about the greater Media area?
I like how it's close knit and if you go down the street, you still know the people. Compared to some places where you may not know who your next door neighbor is.
What do you want the general public to know about the Middletown Fire Co.?
Rain or shine we're all volunteer and we're happy to give up our time to help you.
