Minor Injuries in 13-Vehicle, Rt. 1 Pile-Up, Police Say

A multi-vehicle crash caused major traffic delays near Media Bypass Friday morning.

Two people sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle crash that caused major traffic delays on Route 1 near Media Bypass Friday morning, Upper Providence Township Police Detective Sgt. Michael Langdale said.

Thirteen vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred at about 8:45 a.m. Friday on Rt. 1 south, just prior to the Ridley Creek bridge, according to Langdale.

Two people sustained non-life threatening injuries and seven vehicles were towed from the scene, according to Langdale.

Rt. 1 southbound was closed for more than two hours.

Rainy and icy weather conditions contributed to the crash, according to Langdale.

A multi-vehicle crash is causing traffic delays on Route 1 near Media Bypass Friday morning. 

The crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. Friday in Upper Providence Township, according to PennDOT, as rain and icy conditions hit the area. 

There is no word yet on any injuries. 

All southbound traffic on Rt. 1 is being forced off the Route 252 exit, according to the Delaware County Daily Times
