Police Activity on State Street Thursday Night

There was police activity on State Street around 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

UPDATE: Heather Renee Bocook, 20, of Aldan and Joseph Robert Morella, 27, of Upper Darby, were charged after allegedly stealing jewelry from the Spoil Me Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 9 p.m. on April 28, State Police said. Bocook and Morella fled the scene and were stopped after a short pursuit in Media Borough, State Police said. Both were found to be under the influence of controlled dangerous substance, State Police said. Bocook was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, State Police said.

and blocked traffic on State Street between Olive and Jackson streets in front of the Plumstead for a short period of time Thursday night. 

There were several police cars from both police departments on the scene.

State Troopers on the scene said the incident was related to a retail theft out of the Granite Run Mall and a pursuit led the State Police into Media Borough. 

The scene was apparently cleared before 10 p.m. 

No other information has been provided by the State Police.
