Media Borough

Burglary–300 block of E. Front Street approximately between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 28. An unknown person entered the residence through a basement window and also forced open a “blocked” door leading into the first floor kitchen, according to Media Borough Police. However, the victim could not find anything stolen, according to Media Borough Police. Officers conducted a door-to-door canvas of the neighborhood and no one could report seeing anything out of the ordinary, according to Media Borough Police. This incident remains under investigation.

Attempted Burglary–Precision Air Guns located on S. Orange Street at approximately 3 a.m. on Jan. 30. Officers responded to an alarm that was set off at the business and discovered a window had been broken in an attempt to gain entry to the store but the unknown person or persons were unsuccessful, according to Media Borough Police. It is believed the alarm may have scared the unknown person off, according to Media Borough Police. This incident remains under investigation.

Middletown Township

Retail Theft–Sears Department Store at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 31. Two 19-year-old females were observed by Sears Loss Prevention personnel via video camera removing clothing from various display racks and then entered a dressing room area. When they left the dressing room area neither was in possession of the items they had entered with, according to State Police. Both women were stopped and questioned once they exited the store and the mall and were found to be in possession of merchandise concealed in each of their handbags and on their person, according to State Police. About $169.45 was the total value of the items removed from the store, according to State Police.

Brooke Barnett, 19, of Media, and Chompa Stodghill, 19, of Aston, were both charged with retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft, according to State Police.

Minor Two-Vehicle Crash–Route 1 ramp to Route 352 Southbound at approximately 10:24 a.m. on Jan. 31. A vehicle, driven by a man from Media, rear-ended another vehicle, driven by a man from Green Ridge, PA, according to State Police. Minor damage occurred to the vehicles and one person was transported to Riddle Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to State Police.

Criminal Mischief–Van Leer Road approximately between 6:30 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 31. An unknown person or persons threw an egg on the victim’s vehicle, according to State Police.
