Police Investigate 2 BB Gun Shootings after Woman Shot in Eye

The is investigating two separate incidents involving people being shot with BB guns over the past week.

A 15-year-old man was jogging in the area of Dog Kennel and E. Rose Tree roads at about 4:30 p.m. on July 11 when a small grey vehicle, with several men inside, approached the jogger from behind, according to Upper Providence Police Chief David Montella.

As the vehicle passed, a man in the back seat leaned out of the vehicle and shot the jogger in the neck with a BB gun, according to police.

The BB was lodged in the jogger’s neck and had to be removed at a local hospital, according to police.

In a separate incident, a 28-year-old woman was in the parking lot of a station at N. Providence and Rose Tree roads at about 8:30 p.m. on July 17, when a man approached her from behind and asked if she had a cigarette, according to Montella.

When the woman turned around she was shot in the eye with a BB gun, according to police. 

The woman was treated at a local hospital for an eye injury, according to police.
