Police Make Arrest in 8 Bank Robberies

A 37-year-old Camden man robbed branches in Pennsylvania and Delaware over about four months, police say.

A New Jersey man was arrested and charged in connection with several bank robberies, including two in Media Borough, according to the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. 

George Raymond Myers, 37, of Camden, was charged in Pennsylvania with four counts of robbery and other related charges in District Court 32-2-49. He was also charged with four counts of robbery in Delaware.

Surveillance video and still photos showed the same man robbing four banks in Pennsylvania and four banks in Delaware, between Oct. 30, 2012 and Feb. 21, 2013, according to State Police.

Myers was taken into custody after a bank robbery in Delaware on Feb. 21 and subsequently charged with three additional bank robberies in Delaware, according to State Police.

State Police, Media Borough Police and Upper Darby Police each investigated robberies, including and one on Dec. 31, 2012 at WSFS on E. State Street, and Myers appeared in surveillance videos and photos from each robbery, according to State Police.

The other two Pennsylvania robberies occured at Iron Workers Bank in Chadds Ford and Citizen's Bank in Upper Darby, according to State Police.

Myers is incarcerated in Delaware.
