Police responding to a call of a man screaming in the woods in the early hours of Sept. 6, were warned that the individual might be armed with a gun and a knife.

When officers arrived to the address on the 5200 block of West Chester Pike in southern Willistown near Edgmont Township, they found Jeffrey Stroman wandering the property with a flashlight and a concealed pistol, according to the criminal complaint.

Stroman, 38, had been screaming "I am coming for you" to the caller, according to court documents.

After taking Stroman into custody at gunpoint, police say they found more weapons in and around his apartment, including:

  • .22 caliber carbine rifle, modified to conceal or silence the discharge
  • .22 caliber rifle in basement
  • 12-gauge shotgun in pump house
  • AK-47 assault rifle hidden inside a speaker

On Sept. 14, a quiet and well-behaved Stroman appeared before District Judge Chester Darlington for a scheduled preliminary hearing. Darlington granted a three-week continuance to allow the defendant to be evaluated for drug and alcohol problems and psychological issues.

He faces charges include possession of a concealed firearm without a license, receiving stolen property, making terroristic threats, and repairing, selling and/or possessing prohibited offensive weapons.
