How long have you been with the Rose Tree Fire Co.?

I've been with Rose Tree for 33 years and 12 years as chief. 

What do you like about your job?

It's rewarding to be part of the community and help someone in time of need. 

What do you dislike about your job?

Nothing really, I like it all.   

What inspired you to become a fire fighter?

Being involved with a community and a group where I can work with my peers. Growing up I'd see the camaraderie in emergency services and I wanted to be a part of that.

What do you like about the greater Media area?

It has a small town feel. You know your neighbors and extended neighbors. You know the people around town, the stores and businesses. It has a close knit feel.   

What do you want the general public to know about the Rose Tree Fire Co.?

We're 100 percent volunteer and we provide primary fire and rescue for Upper Providence and the surrounding community. We have a number of jobs available, not just fire fighting jobs. There are support and administrative roles too. There's an opportunity for anyone. Rose Tree is always looking for new recruits of all ages.
