Springfield Police: Media Woman Stabs Man In Domestic Dispute

A Media resident allegedly stabbed a man with a kitchen knife.

Springfield police received a report of a domestic dispute at a home in the 400 block of Collins Drive on Saturday, Jan 21 at about 2 p.m.

Patrolman Daniel Boyd arrived and the investigation showed that the homeowner had locked himself in his vehicle in the driveway. He stated that he had been involved in a dispute over money that was owed to him by a woman, who had periodically stayed at the home.

During the dispute, Robyn Averson, 46, of the 400 block of N. Monroe Street in Media, allegedly stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife. The victim suffered a wound on his back. He was transported to the Crozer Chester Medical Center by to be treated for his injuries.

The home was searched and the woman was located in a bedroom in the rear of the home. She was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station.

Averson was charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide, aggravated assault, possession of instruments of crime, terrorist threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.
