State Police Blotter: 1 Charged with Traffic Violation in Multi-Vehicle Car Crash

Two retail thefts and an attempted burglary were also reported by the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks.

Multi-Vehicle Car Crash–Route 1 near the Granite Run Mall at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Feb. 10. A 22-year-old female, of Springfield, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix traveling north on Rt. 1 in the left turn lane, according to State Police. The Grand Prix made a left turn in front of a Chevrolet Impala that was traveling south on Rt. 1 in the right lane and the Grand Prix was struck on the right rear fender, according to State Police. The Grand Prix was then pushed into the median and its left rear bumper struck a third vehicle, a Chevrolet Express, that was stopped in the left turn lane near the exit from the Granite Run Mall, according to State Police.

There were two people inside the Impala and neither was injured. There were four people inside the Express and none of them reported any injuries, according to State Police. The 22-year-old driver of the Grand Prix suffered minor injuries and was charged with a traffic violation of making a left turn, according to State Police.

Retail Theft–Sears Department Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 4 p.m. on Feb. 12. A 16-year-old male from Glenolden concealed several video games and a memory card in the sleeve and pockets of his jacket, according to State Police. He then left the store without purchasing the items, according to State Police. The items were valued at $134.91, according to State Police. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact State Police at 484-840-1000.

Theft by Unlawful Taking–Sears Department Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. A 28-year-old man entered the store and attempted to exchange non-purchased items for a gift card, according to State Police. The man was arrested and transported to State Police-Media Barracks for processing, according to State Police.

Attempted Burglary–Route 352 and Route 1, Hannum’s Harley Davidson at approximately 5:16 a.m. on Feb. 8. An unknown person smashed the glass out of a side door, according to State Police. This caused an audible alarm to sound and entry was not made, according to State Police. The store manager responded and found nothing to be stolen, according to State Police.
