State Police Blotter: Woman Assaults Police Following DUI Hit-And-Run

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Retail Theft—'s at Granite Run Mall at approximately 5:24 p.m. on Oct. 18. Brennon Jawuan Jones, 23, of Claymont, Del., was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct, State Police said. Police were dispatched to the scene for a report of a man who fled from a retail theft and was seen running across Route 1 into the woods, State Police said. Troopers were able to contain Jones near the rear of the store hiding behind a trailer in the parking lot, State Police said. Jones was taken into custody without incident and it was also discovered that he had an active bench warrant for providing false ID to law enforcement, State Police said.

DUI Hit-and-Run/Aggravated Assault—Smedley Avenue in Middletown Township at approximately 1:41 a.m. on Oct. 16. Police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that struck a house and when they arrived found a gold, Ford Taurus with moderate damage, unattended a few 100 yards from the reported crash scene, State Police said. A further investigation was conducted and the driver was found a few miles away, at the address that the car was registered to, State Police said. Christine Rose Heisler, 19, of Media, admitted she was driving the vehicle earlier and that she had a few drinks earlier in the evening, State Police said. Heisler was arrested and transported to to have blood drawn, State Police said. But during the transportation, she became very combative with State Troopers and nursing staff upon arrival at the hospital, State Police said. Heisler was charged with aggravated assault, DUI, hit and run and several other criminal and summary charges, State Police said. She was processed and transported to George Hill Correctional Facility in Delaware County, State Police said.

1-Car DUI Crash—W. Rose Valley Road and Possum Hollow Road at approximately 12:48 a.m. on Oct. 14. A 2008 Dodge Avenger was seen traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a guardrail as it traveled east, State Police said. A traffic stop was conducted and a Wallingford woman was determined to be driving under the influence, State Police said.

DUI Crash—Routes 452 and 1 at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Oct. 13. A vehicle sideswiped another vehicle while making a right turn from Rt. 1 south onto Rt. 452 north, State Police said. Further investigation resulted in a 49-year-old Media man being taken into custody for DUI, State Police said. Charges will be filed.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 13. A 19-year-old Chester City woman removed and carried clothing valued at $60 out of the store without paying, State Police said. Charges will be filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition—White Horse Village in Edgmont Township between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 30. Janice Allen, 55, of West Grove, was charged in District Court 32-2-43 with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, theft and receiving stolen property, State Police said. Police responded to a report of a theft of Oxycodone medication and through an investigation it was determined that Allen, a nurse at the facility, had stolen the medication that was intended for residents, State Police said.
