State Police Blotter: Assault at Group Home, Credit Card Fraud, Theft, Attempted Burglary

Harassment–Foxcroft Lane at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 5. A caretaker at a group home was assaulted by a client, according to State Police.

Retail Theft–Sears Department Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 7:25 p.m. on Feb. 4. A 17-year-old female, from Chester, was arrested on retail theft, according to State Police. Charges are pending in District Court 32-3-48, according to State Police.

Access Device Fraud–South Pennell Road between about 12:30 and 2 p.m. on Feb. 3. An unknown person obtained the victim’s credit card information by an unknown means, according to State Police. The stolen card was then used to make several purchases in Madrid, Spain, and the victim suffered a total loss of $374, according to State Police. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call State Police at 484-840-1000.

Retail Theft–Sears Department Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 9:04 p.m. on Jan. 29. Two 21-year-old females reportedly stole clothing from Sears, according to State Police. One woman, from Swarthmore, was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to State Police.

Attempted Burglary–Van Leer Avenue at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 27. An unknown person walked from Van Leer Avenue to the side door of a residence and attempted to open the locked door, according to State Police. The person then walked around the residence to a rear door and again attempted to open a locked door, according to State Police. The person never gained entry into the house, according to State Police. The person then walked back out to Van Leer Avenue and left the area, according to State Police, and footprints were found in the fresh snow, showing the path of the unknown person. If anyone has any information or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact State Police at 484-840-1000.
