State Police Blotter: Cell Phone Stolen While Victim in Buffet Line

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Propulsion of Missile—Gradyville and Valley roads at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 31. A green Honda Accord was pulled over after a report of bottles being thrown from a vehicle at a group of bicycle riders in the area, State Police said. After speaking with the occupants in the car the two rear seat occupants confessed to throwing bottles at the bikers, State Police said. The two juveniles from Glen Mills were processed and released to their parents, State Police said. 

DUI—Route 352 near Gradyville Road in Edgmont Township at approximately 12:17 a.m. on Aug. 30. A 47-year-old Newtown Square man was arrested in connection with driving under the influence, State Police said. The vehicle was stopped for driving violations and the driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested, State Police said.

Retail Theft—Kohl's Store at Granite Run Mall at approximately 5:58 p.m. on Aug. 30. Two 19-year-old females and a 20-year-old female arrived together, entered the store and while inside entered the fitting rooms carrying various items of merchandise, State Police said. While inside the fitting rooms, the women placed the various items in their purses and left the store without paying for the items, State Police said. A member from the Kohls loss prevention department stopped and detained all three women outside in the parking lot and police were notified, State Police said. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48. 

Minor Car Crash—Baltimore Pike near School Lane at approximately 7:27 p.m. on Aug. 27. A 17-year-old man was driving a BMW east on Baltimore Pike when he lost control of the car and it went up a dirt embankment, struck a tree and rolled over once on its roof, State Police said. The man was taken to Riddle Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, State Police said.

Controlled Substance—Route 352 at Glen Riddle Road at approximately 3:56 a.m. on Aug. 27. Police stopped a 21-year-old man after a complaint of a person banging on doors on Springhouse Lane, State Police said. The man was observed leaving the area and later found to be in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia as well as a prohibited offensive weapon, State Police said. The man was taken into custody and charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48. 

Theft by Unlawful Taking—Sun China Buffet on W. Baltimore Pike at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Aug. 25. While the victim was getting food from the buffet line an unknown person stole the victim's cell phone from the table where the victim was eating lunch, State Police said. The unknown person then fled the scene. 

Theft by Unlawful Taking—Mystic Lane between Aug. 27 and 28. A friend stopped by the victim's house and while the victim was sleeping the friend removed a 18K gold onyx bracelet from the victim's wrist, State Police said. The victim reported that the bracelet was valued at approximately $3,000, State Police said. 

Theft—N. Middletown Road between Aug. 22 and 28. An unknown person stole two mirrors from the victim, State Police said. 

Criminal Mischief—Springhouse Lane at approximately 12:55 p.m. on Aug. 20. A 48-year-old Drexel Hill man went to the victim's house and kicked the storm door in while yelling obscenities very loudly, State Police said. The man was attempting to get his tools back, State Police said. Non-traffic citations were filed in District Court 32-2-48. 

Theft by Deception/Tampering with Records—Physician Weight Control on Granite Drive between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Aug. 16. An unknown person unlawfully removed cash belonging to the victim, State Police said. 

Retail Theft—Boscov's Department Store at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Aug. 15. Sean Anthony McNeely, 27, of Sharon Hill, was arrested in connection with stealing merchandise from the store, State Police said. While in custody several other stolen items from a different store were in his possession, State Police said. Charges were filed in 32-2-48. 

Theft by Unlawful Taking—Cross Point Church between Oct. 1 and Aug. 11. Unknown persons removed about a 100 linear feet of copper downspouts, State Police said. It is unknown when the thefts actually occurred as the actors were at the church multiple times and took sections of the downspouts valued at $2,000, State Police said. 

Identity Theft—T-Mobile Store in Middletown Township between July 22 and Aug. 5. An unknown person used the identity of the victim and opened a new cell phone account, State Police said.
