State Police Blotter: Women Steal $1,098 Worth of Merchandise from Boscovs

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Minor Car Crash—Baltimore Pike at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 7. A 2007 Mixer and 2011 Ford Flex were stopped at a red light when the driver of the Mixer leaned over to pick up paperwork from the floor, causing some brake pressure to be released and rear ended the Ford Flex, State Police said. No one was injuried and the driver of the Mixer received a violation for following too closely, State Police said. The Mixer sustained minor scratches to the front bumper and the Flex sustained dents to its rear hatch and a broken window, State Police said.

DUI Crash—Route 352 near Rose Tree Road at approximately 1:29 a.m. on Nov. 6. A 23-year-old West Chester woman attempted to pass a vehicle that stopped on the roadway to avoid an animal, State Police said, and struck the victim's driver's side view mirror. The woman was later found to be under the influence of alcohol to a degree which rendered her incapable of safe driving, State Police said. She was charged with DUI, driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving via a criminal complaint in District Court 32-2-48, State Police said.

Burglary-Commercial—Edgewood Memorial Park between Nov. 3 and 7. An unknown person broke and entered a locked garage door, State Police said. Once inside the persons removed several power tools and fled the scene, State Police said.

Burglary—Valley Road in Edgmont Township between Nov. 3 and 5. An unknown person tried to break into the rear of a residence through breaking a glass door, State Police said.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at approximately 4 p.m. on Nov. 3. Two black females, from Delaware County, entered the store and stole 43 retail items consisting of clothing and jewelry valued at $1,098.32, State Police said. Both women were arrested and transported for processing, State Police said.

Theft—Olde House Lane at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 2. The victim reported that her grandson had been using her credit card to make purchases without her permission over the last year until August, State Police said.

Theft— between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2. Hospital staff informed police that property was taken from patients who were admitted for treatment, State Police said. Two separate patient's valuables secured in a safe were missing when the patients were checking out, State Police said. The total value of missing property was more than $1,300, State Police said.

Burglary-Residential—Barren Road between Oct. 25 and Nov. 4. The property has been for sale for about six months and unknown persons entered the residence while it was unoccupied and removed personal items from multiple closets, State Police said. There were no signs of forced entry and the incident is under investigation, State Police said.
