State Police Blotter: Driver MIA After Car Crashes into Tree; Investigation Ongoing

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Criminal Mischief— parking lot between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 7. An unknown person scratched the victim's vehicle with an unknown item, according to State Police.

Harassment— at about 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 7. An 18-year-old Media boy intentionally made physical contact with a 15-year-old Glen Mills boy, who then fell to the floor but was not injured, according to State Police. The 18-year-old was in the assistant principal's office when police arrived and the 15-year-old was taken home by his parents, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at at about 5:35 p.m. on Feb. 6. Lisa Marie Owens, of Collingdale, attempted to steal multiple red and white colored T-shirts and a pair of red shorts, valued at $15.98, according to State Police. Owens was taken into custody, transported to the Media Barracks and charged with retail theft, according to State Police.

Theft—Sunoco Gas Station at about 11 p.m. on Feb. 4. A white man entered the Sunoco and stole a Red Bull energy drink valued at $4.23, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at about 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 4. Two 12-year-olds girls and an 11-year-old girl, all from Chichester, stole merchandise from the store, according to State Police.

DUI—Rose Tree Road at Route 352 at about 3:40 a.m. on Feb. 4. A 22-year-old Ridley Park man was stopped for a traffic violation and the smell of alcohol was detected on his breath, according to State Police. The man admitted to consuming alcohol within the last few hours, according to State Police.

DUI—Granite Run Mall parking lot at about 1:36 a.m. on Feb. 4. A 23-year-old Broomall man was arrested in connection with DUI, according to State Police.

Hit and Run—Overlook Circle at Route 452 at about 12:28 a.m. on Feb. 4. State Police arrived at the scene and found a vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver was not at the scene, according to State Police. An investigation into the identity of the driver is ongoing, according to State Police.

One-Vehicle Crash—Route 1 near Valley Road at about 1:39 a.m. on Feb. 4. A 25-year-old Chadds Ford man was driving southbound when a deer walked onto the roadway and caused the man to crash his vehicle into the deer, according to State Police. The driver was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene, according to State Police.

DUI Crash—Providence Road at Canter Drive at about 5:36 p.m. on Feb. 3. A 46-year-old Havertown man left his lane of traffic and struck another vehicle before striking a tree, according to State Police. The man was subsequently found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police.

Aggravated Assault/Terroristic Threats— at about 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 2. A 14-year-old Philadelphia boy repeatedly stabbed the back of a school bus seat with a Swiss Army knife, according to State Police. The boy then directed the knife to his seat partner, poked him in the neck and stated, "Do you want some," according to State Police. The boy threatened two other juveniles on the bus and poked them in the stomach with the knife and also punched one of the juveniles in the jaw multiple times, according to State Police. The boy was restrained by a school assistant and the knife was removed, according to State Police.

Burglary—W. Forge Road between Feb. 1 and 7. Unknown persons used force to gain access to the residence and removed copper pipes from the residence, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at about 2 p.m. on Feb. 2. An 18-year-old woman placed three jewelry items, valued at $100, in her waistband and left the store without paying, according to State Police.

Identity Theft—Unknown persons attempted to apply for a credit card account using an Edgmont Township victim's information, according to State Police. On Jan. 30 the victim was notified by her creditor and after confirmation, the credit card application process was terminated, according to State Police.
