State Police Blotter: DUI Crash, Thefts from Vehicles

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000.

 

Theft from Motor Vehicle–Rose Valley Road and Brookhaven Road in Rose Valley Borough between 1 and 7 a.m. on April 24. An unknown person entered two separate properties, smashed car windows and stole various items from the vehicles, State Police said.

DUI Crash–Route 1 Southbound at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 12:20 p.m. on April 23. Christine Robin Smith, 57, of Media, was involved in two minor car crashes and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, State Police said. Smith was placed under arrest for DUI, State Police said.

Retail Theft–Kohls Department Store at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 6:59 p.m. on April 22. Jennifer Bernfield, of Collingdale, stole clothing items valued at $80.78 from the store, State Police said. Bernfield was identified on surveillance video and later apprehended, State Police said. Charges were filed at District Court 32-2-48.

Theft from Motor Vehicle–Todmorden Lane in Rose Valley Borough between April 20 and 21. An unknown person went into the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a Tom Tom GPS unit, a wallet containing a Pennsylvania driver’s license and $300 and an American Express credit card, State Police said. The unknown person used the credit card and charged $100 at a gas station in Woodlyn, Pa., State Police said.

Theft–Wilson Avenue in Edgmont Township between April 16 and 19. An unknown person entered a barn and removed tools, according to State Police.
