State Police Blotter: DUI, Retail Theft and Attempted Burglary

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000.

Criminal Mischief–Horseshoe Lane in Edgmont Township on May 21. An unknown person scratched the victim’s vehicle with an unknown item, according to State Police.

Retail Theft–Boscovs and Sears at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 7:36 p.m. on May 20. Aldona Bakutiene, 60, of Aston, was arrested and charged with retail theft, according to State Police. Bakutiene took items from both stores with a total value of about $983.49, according to State Police.

Attempted Burglary–Middletown Road between May 20 and 21. An unknown person attempted to pry the door open to gain access to the building without success, State Police said.

DUI–Route 1 and Route 452 at approximately 10:10 p.m. on May 19. State Police observed a vehicle traveling south on Route 1 and then proceeded through a steady red traffic light and failed to use turning signals a few times, according to State Police. Upon further investigation, Jelisa Smith, 18, of Media, was arrested and charged with DUI and additional charges, according to State Police.

Retail Theft–Boscovs at Granite Run Mall at approximately 2 p.m. on May 18. Nicole Marchol, 31, of Ridley Park, and Renee Burns, 32, of Ridley Park, were arrested and charged in connection with stealing $326 worth of merchandise from the store, State Police said. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Retail Theft–Victoria’s Secret at Granite Run Mall at approximately 7:45 p.m. on May 17. An unknown person removed numerous bottles of perfume from the store without making payment, according to State Police. The unknown person fled the scene in an unknown direction, according to State Police.

Theft-Fraud-Forgery–Man O War Drive at approximately 12 p.m. on May 12. An unknown person unlawfully took and used the victim’s information to open an online banking account, according to State Police.
