State Police Blotter: Girl Removes Necklace Tags, Puts Them in Shoe

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Commercial Burglary—the unoccupied Franklin Mint Museum between March 9 and 13. Unknown persons removed copper piping from the exterior wall of the building and entered a secured door and removed additional copper tubing from inside, according to State Police.

DUI—Route 352 at Old Forge Road at approximately 12:59 a.m. on March 11. A Media man was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at approximately 4:26 p.m. on March 10. Tonya Miller, 43, of Upper Darby, was arrested and charged in connection with retail theft, according to State Police. Miller took two handbags, two wallets and a pair of slippers off the display racks and left the store without paying, according to State Police. The items were valued at a total of $236, according to State Police. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Retail Theft— at at approximately 6:39 p.m. on March 10. A 14-year-old Media woman took multiple necklaces, removed their tags and placed them in her shoe, according to State Police. She attempted to leave the store and was stopped by a store employee until police were called, according to State Police.

DUI— entrance on N. Middletown Road at approximately 2:33 a.m. on March 10. Troopers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle blocking the entrance to Lima Estates, according to State Police. A strong odor of alcohol was detected from the interior of the vehicle and the driver was arrested in connection with driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance, according to State Police.

DUI Crash—Lenni and Highpoint roads at approximately 8:05 p.m. on March 9. Following a one-car crash, it was determined that a 24-year-old Marcus Hook man was under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police. He was taken into custody and charges were filed.

Harassment—S. Old Middletown Road at approximately 5:15 p.m. on March 8. A 21-year-old woman told police that her ex-boyfriend, a 21-year-old man, communicated threats to her via text message and phone calls after they broke up, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at approximately 12:54 p.m. on March 6. A 25-year-old Philadelphia woman concealed $94 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying, according to State Police.
