State Police Blotter: Man Burglarizing House Found Hiding in Closet

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000.

Burglary/Criminal Trespass–Reservation Trail at approximately 2:50 a.m. on May 4. Robert Miller, 21, of Glen Mills, was arrested and charged with burglary, State Police said. A resident on Reservation Trail observed a flashlight inside an unoccupied residence at Reservation Trail, State Police said. Police arrived and found the house had been broken into. Miller was found inside the house hiding in a closet on the second floor, State Police said. He was taken into custody without incident.

DUI–Route 3 and Providence Road in Edgmont Township at approximately 2:10 a.m. on May 1. Jason Gibson, 24, of Havertown, was arrested for DUI and additional charges, State Police said. A vehicle was observed weaving in its lane crossing the yellow line curve a few times, State Police said. A traffic stop was conducted and upon further investigation Gibson was arrested and charged, State Police said.

One Car DUI Crash–Providence Road at Canter Drive in Edgmont Township at approximately 12:29 a.m. on April 30. William John Warda, of Media, was traveling south on Providence Road in a silver Honda Civic when he lost control and left the road, striking a tree, State Police said. Both front airbags were deployed and Warda was uninjured, State Police said. Further investigation revealed Wards was intoxicated and he was taken into custody for DUI, State Police said.

Theft by Unlawful Taking–AMC Movie Theater in Middletown Township between 3 and 4 p.m. on April 30. The victim had his Blackberry Torch stolen at the movie theater, State Police said. The suspect was described as a younger white male, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall, 150 pounds and was wearing a green shirt with lettering on the front, State Police said. The phone was valued at $200, State Police said.

Burglary–Glen Riddle Road between April 29 and May 1. Unknown persons entered the victim’s residence through a sliding glass door and removed multiple items, including three laptops, video game consoles, jewelry and money from inside the residence, State Police said. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

Theft, DUI–Spoil Me Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 9 p.m. on April 28. Heather Renee Bocook, 20, of Aldan and Joseph Robert Morella, 27, of Upper Darby, were charged after allegedly stealing jewelry from the store, State Police said. Bocook and Morella fled the scene and were stopped after a short pursuit in Media Borough, State Police said. Both were found to be under the influence of controlled dangerous substance, State Police said. Bocook was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, State Police said. Theft of Services–Friendly’s on Baltimore Pike between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on April 24. Four separate groups went into Friendly’s and did not pay the bill, State Police said. The total amount deprived of the restaurant was $32.70, State Police said.
