State Police Blotter: Man Found Hiding Under Tree Following DUI Crash

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Retail Theft— at at about 3:12 p.m. on Feb. 28. A juvenile was observed placing merchandise in a bag and leaving the store without paying, according to State Police.

Assault/Harassment—Elwyn Campus at about 12:55 p.m. on Feb. 28. A staff member was punched by a student, according to State Police. No visible injuries were observed and the investigation is ongoing, according to State Police.

DUI Crash—Route 352 at S. Old Middletown Road at about 9:16 p.m. on Feb. 27. A 22-year-old Media man drove his 1998 Dodge Durango through the intersection and left the roadway, striking a telephone pole, according to State Police. The Durango then crossed Rt. 352 and drove into a Christmas Tree Farm where it came to a stop, according to State Police. The driver fled the vehicle and was found hiding under a tree at a nearby church, according to State Police. He appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, according to State Police.

Burglary—Ridley Creek Drive between Feb. 25 and 26. Unknown persons unlocked a garage and removed a red, Toro Zero Radius lawnmower valued at $4,000, according to State Police.

DUI—State Police-Media Barracks parking lot at about 10:42 p.m. on Feb. 24. Police observed a red Toyota Highlander weaving in its lane of travel and it then crossed the fog lines several times and almost struck the concrete median barrier, according to State Police. A traffic stop was conducted at the Media Barracks station parking lot and the 59-year-old Havertown driver was arrested in connection with DUI, according to State Police. He was processed, fingerprinted and released to a relative, according to State Police.

Wanted Person/Arrest Prior to Requisition—Route 352 at Sycamore Mills Road at approximately 7:18 p.m. on Feb. 24. A traffic stop for violations led to the arrest of a Chester man in connection with a probation violation out of Atlantic City, NJ, according to State Police. Judd Weinmann, 40, was processed, fingerprinted and transported to George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Glen Mills to await a preliminary hearing, according to State Police.

Harassment—Howarth Road at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Feb. 24. Residents at the home have been receiving harassing telephone calls from unknown persons, according to State Police. The harassing phone calls have been occurring for a week and the number showed up as blocked, according to State Police.

Access Device Fraud/Identity Theft—Glen Riddle Road between Feb. 2 and 13. An unknown person made various fraudulent charges to the victim's father's bank account, according to State Police. The charges totaled $8,943.27, according to State Police. The investigation is ongoing and there are multiple leads.

Theft— on an unknown date or time. A Media man took batteries from the store into his possession to a junk yard for his personal profit, according to State Police.

Theft—Granite Run Buick on an unknown date or time. A registration plate was stolen, according to State Police. A date of occurrence could not be provided but it appeared to be in connection with an ongoing theft investigation, according to State Police.
