State Police Blotter: Man Passed Out in Parked Car Arrested for DUI

DUI—Parking lot of Genuardi’s in Edgmont Township at approximately 1:43 a.m. on July 8. State Police were dispatched to the parking lot for a report of someone passed out inside a vehicle. When troopers arrived, a Toyota Camry was stopped in the primary traffic way of the parking lot with its lights on and the engine running, State Police said. The driver, Jamar Williams, 32, of Woodbury, NJ, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested for DUI, State Police said.

Theft Fraud Forgery—Reported to State Police at approximately 8:30 a.m. on July 6. In the commission of a crime, an unknown person used the victim’s debit card to purchase online movies at Fandango website, State Police said, and the Iron Worker’s Bank notified the victim of the fraudulent use of her debit card. The total value charged to the debit card was $479.75, which was reimbursed later to the victim by Iron Worker’s Bank and the debit account was closed by the bank.

Retail Theft—Sears at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 5:52 p.m. on July 5. A juvenile male took a pair of Adidas pants off the rack and went into a dressing room, State Police said. The man emerged from the dressing room with the Adidas pants concealed under his own pants that he was wearing and attempted to leave the store without paying for them, State Police said. The pants were valued at $35, State Police said.

Theft from Motor Vehicles—Wynmoor Road and Springhouse Lane between July 1 and 2. Three vehicles, at different addresses in close proximity to one another were broken into, State Police said. On Wynmoor Road, the left rear window of a Honda Civic was broken and a Vera Bradley computer backpack was removed, which contained a MacBook Pro computer, Sony ProShot Digital Camera, a purple zip-up sweatshirt, and a pre-paid cell phone. On Springhouse Lane, a right rear window of a Honda Accord was broken and a HP Inspirion laptop was removed from the backseat, State Police said. The victim heard his car alarm go off but he hit the remote to turn it off and never looked outside, thinking someone bumped his car, State Police said. Also on Springhouse Lane, a left rear window of a Hyundai Sante Fe was forced down disabling the power window and two headrest DVD players were removed, State Police said.

Theft from Motor Vehicle—Parking lot of Winner’s Circle Restaurant in Edgmont Township between 8 and 11:30 p.m. on June 29. An unknown person entered the victim’s vehicle and removed $80, State Police said.

Theft by Unlawful Taking—S. New Middletown Road at approximately 2 p.m. on June 23. When the victim returned to his place of business and walked in the backyard, two unknown person had removed five commercial line, landscaping trimmers that were stored in a parked utility trailer inside the victim’s property, State Police said. The victim chased the two, white men, who were both about 5 feet 10 inches tall but they fled in an unknown direction, State Police said.

Theft Fraud Forgery—Lenni Road at approximately 12 p.m. on June 21. The victim’s personal information was used to fraudulently open a Netflix account and obtain a credit report, State Police said. The total monetary value lost was $2, State Police said. The victim was able to contact the credit bureau and put a hold on all credit activity, State Police said.

Theft of Motor Vehicle—Media Camp Center on W. Baltimore Pike between May 25 and June 26. The owner of a pop-up 2011 A-Liner Columbia Pacific camper parked his vehicle on May 25 at the Camp Center and when he returned almost a month later it was missing, State Police said. The owner pays Media Camp Center to store his camper there and they moved it on a previous occasion to get another camper from behind his, but the owner’s camper was nowhere on the property, State Police said. The missing vehicle was a white pop-up trailer with green lettering on the side bearing the PA registration of XGD-1631. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
