State Police Blotter: Man Steals $15 Worth of Food from Acme

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

DUI—Valley Road at approximately 7:34 p.m. on Jan. 6. A 59-year-old Kennett Square man was stopped for multiple traffic violations, according to State Police. He was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police.

Minor One-Car Crash—E. Forge Road near Route 352 on Jan. 5. A 29-year-old driver of a Ford Focus was traveling at about 30 miles per hour, approaching Rt. 352, when he over compensated and lost control of the vehicle, State Police said. He drove into the embankment and came to a stop across the double solid lines, State Police said. The driver was not injured but did receive a traffic violation, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at approximately 2:51 p.m. on Jan. 4. A 55-year-old Media man was accused of stealing $15 worth of food from the store, according to State Police.

Theft by Unlawful Taking and Disposition—S. New Middletown Road between Dec. 31 and Jan. 7. Unknown persons removed a black, 15-inch Gateway laptop from the victim's dorm room, according to State Police. The victim discovered the laptop was missing from his locker and reported the theft to police, according to State Police.

Theft—Glen Riddle Station Apartments between Dec. 27 and Jan. 5. A theft occurred at the residence of an 88-year-old victim, according to State Police. The investigation is ongoing.
