State Police Blotter: Men Charged After Riding Stolen ATVs

A retail theft and two DUI's were also reported by the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks.

DUI–Route 352 at Country Deli at approximately 1:30 a.m. on March 5. State Police said Sean Hobdell, 25, of Brookhaven, was arrested for DUI. Charges were filed at District Court 32-2-48.

Retail Theft–FYE Store at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 6:19 p.m. on March 5. A 15-year-old male, from Media, removed ear phones from the store without paying for them, State Police said.  He was later apprehended inside of Sears by a Sears’ loss prevention officer, State Police said.

DUI–Route 1 and Oriole Avenue at Sunoco Gas Station at approximately 1:41 a.m. on March 4. A Clifton Heights woman driving a Suzuki Samarai was found seated behind the wheel of the car passed out, State Police said. It took several attempts to wake her, State Police said, and following an investigation she told police that she took Xanax earlier that day. The woman was taken into custody, processed and released, State Police said.

Minor Car Crash–Route 1 at approximately 8:13 a.m. on March 3. A Toyota Matrix was traveling southbound behind a Volkswagen Jetta, State Police said, the two traffic lanes merged into one lane. The Matrix attempted to pass the Jetta on the right while the Jetta was moving right into the lane and struck the Matrix on its right side, State Police said. A witness was at the scene and relayed the same information, State Police said. There were no injuries.

Receiving Stolen Property–Baltimore Pike and Valley Road at approximately 3:50 p.m. on March 1. State Police said Francis Migatz, 21, of Aston, and John Haines Jr., 19, of Brookhaven, were operating all terrain vehicles on the roadway. State Police attempted a traffic stop and Haines fled but Migatz was apprehended on his ATV, State Police said. It was discovered the ATVs were stolen out of Philadelphia, State Police said. Haines later turned himself in to State Police and he was charged with fleeing and eluding, criminal trespass and related traffic violations.
