State Police Blotter: Middletown Man Pulls Gun on Motorist Making U-Turn

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Criminal Mischief—S. New Middletown Road at approximately 12:38 a.m. on Oct. 11. An unknown person smashed the victim's rear windshield with an unknown object, State Police said.

Retail Theft—'s at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 5 p.m. on Oct. 11. A 21-year-old Brookhaven woman concealed and removed $90 worth of clothing from JCPenny's and Boscov's, State Police said. The woman fled the mall in a red Mitsubishi south on Route 352, State Police said. The woman was apprehended by State Police and local officers.

DUI—Olde Farm Lane at approximately 5:32 p.m on Oct. 10. A 55-year-old Middletown woman was arrested for DUI after multiple 911 calls of erratic driving on Route 452, State Police said. A motorist followed the vehicle until police arrived and discovered the woman passed out in the front seat, State Police said. Charges will be filed in District Court.

DUI—Route 1 and 352 at approximately 3:05 a.m. on Oct. 9. An 18-year-old Glen Mills woman was observed to be in violation of a vehicle code and subesequently arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana, State Police said.

Retail Theft— at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 8. A white female removed a bracelet and earrings from the store without paying, State Police said. The woman was apprehended by Kohls' loss prevention outside the store, State Police said. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Disorderly Conduct—Arasapha Farms in Edgmont Township at approximately 8:22 p.m. on Oct. 8. Hamidah Shah, 35, of New York, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after yelling and cursing in public, State Police said. Shah was arraigned by Judge Richard Cappelli and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Aggravated Assault—Van Leer Avenue at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Oct. 7. An unknown white man approached the victim, who was walking toward the Granite Run Mall, and placed a gun in his face inches from his head, State Police said. The victim fled the scene without incident and the investigation continues, State Police said.

Simple Assault—Route 352 and 1 between 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 7. The victim drove onto a Middletown man's property and attempted to make a U-turn, State Police said. While in the process of turning, the Middletown man came out of his house yelling and blocked the victim's path, State Police said. The Middletown man then pulled a 9mm pistol from his waistband and shifted it from hand to hand before returning it to his waistband, State Police said. The victim left the scene and reported the incident to the police and the Middletown man was taken into custody, State Police said.

Harassment—Granite Run Mall at approximately 11:22 p.m. on Oct. 7. Two individuals got into a physical altercation in the parking lot, State Police said. No one was injuried and neither person wanted to pursue criminal charges, State Police said.

Theft— at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 6. An unknown woman unlawfully purchased gift cards from the store, State Police said. The woman paid by using a fradulent check attempting to buy gift cards in the amount of $376.79, State Police said. Acme store staff confronted the woman while she presented a fake Delaware license and she fled the scene in a silver late model Nissan Altima with BK27138 tags, State Police said.

Theft— at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Oct. 5. A black male and female between the ages of 35 and 40 committed refund fraud and returned stolen merchandise in return for monetary value, State Police said.

Theft—Granite Run Mall near Ruby Tuesdays between 9:20 and 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 5. The victim placed her wallet on a bench in the mall while she dressed her baby and when she got to her vehicle she realized she had left her wallet on the bench, State Police said. When the victim went back inside her wallet was gone, State Police said. A witness had seen a black male wearing dark clothing pick up the wallet and hand it to a white male wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball hat, who possible was an employee at the mall, State Police said. The witness said the black man then left the mall and the white man walked in an opposite direction, State Police said. An investigation continues.
