State Police Blotter: Minor Throws Cinderblock Through School Door

State Police also reported a hit and run crash, theft and burglary, among other things.

Car Crash–Route 1 northbound near Granite Run Pontiac at approximately 11:21 a.m. on April 1. A Mercury Sable was traveling in the left lane at a speed too fast for the conditions, State Police said, when the driver yawned with his left hand. The care left the lane, crossed the left shoulder and struck the left berm, State Police said. The car then rolled onto its roof and came to a final stop on the left shoulder facing north, State Police. The driver was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, State Police said.

Disorderly Conduct/Criminal Mischief–County Alternative School at approximately 1:31 p.m. on March 31. A 16-year-old female, of Upper Darby, exited the school and when she attempted to re-enter the building to her get personal belongings she was told she was not allowed by school staff, State Police said. She then attempted to break a glass door with a 2x6, State Police said. She was unsuccessful and then used a cinderblock from the side of the school and threw it through the glass door, State Police said. She then went through the door and retrieved her personal belongings, State Police said. While she was inside the school building she pulled the fire alarm, State Police said. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact State Police-Media Barracks at 484-840-1000.

Theft–JCPenney at Granite Run Mall on March 29. A JCPenney employee, from Philadelphia, issued multiple transactions and stole U.S. currency from a JCPenney register, State Police said. Charges are pending.

Criminal Mischief–Glen Riddle Road between March 29 and March 30. An unknown person opened the gas cap of the victim’s vehicle and poured an unknown substance into the gas tank, State Police said. This subsequently disabled the vehicle as the victim drove from his house, State Police said.

Hit and Run Crash–Painter and Forge roads at approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 28.  A white commercial box truck with an Enterprise logo written on the sides was traveling north on Forge Road and struck a PECO utility pole located on the right side of the roadway, State Police said. The vehicle then fled the scene once the pole was split in half, State Police said. The vehicle should display moderate damage on the right side, passenger door and it should be missing a mirror, State Police said. Burglary–Darlington Road between March 1 and March 5. An unknown person gained entry into a garage area through a damaged front door. The person than took many tools and parts of old engines and then fled the scene, State Police said.

Harassment–DEB Store in the Granite Run Mall at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Feb. 20. A 28-year-old Havertown man struck a 51-year-old Ridley Park man in the stomach, chest and back after the Ridley Park man violently charged at him, State Police said.
