State Police Blotter: Missing Juvenile Revealed Following Retail Theft Arrest

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Harassment— at about 2:28 p.m. on March 6. A 16-year-old woman slapped and pushed a 16-year-old man several times, according to State Police. The man was uninjured and the woman was charged with harassment, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at at about 6:57 p.m. on March 6. Two women concealed several items of merchandise in their purses and left the store without paying, according to State Police. Both women were detained by Sears Loss Prevention. Jasmine Townsend, 21, of Sharon Hill, was charged with felony retail theft for a third offense in connection with taking $50 worth of merchandise, according to State Police. Ruth Etheart, 21, of Mattapan, Mass. was charged with summary retail theft for a first offense in connection with taking $78 worth of merchandise, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall at about 5:55 p.m. on March 5. A 16-year-old Wilmington, Del. man placed $119 worth of merchandise into his pants and sweater and fled the store, according to State Police. He was located by Boscov's Loss Prevention and was charged with retail theft, according to State Police. Once he was fingerprinted it was revealed that he was a missing juvenile from Wilmington and he was released to their custody, according to State Police.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle—Weathers Motors between March 4 and 5. Unknown persons arrived at the parking lot and removed the tailgates from a silver 2011 and black 2008 Dodge pick up truck, according to State Police.

DUI—Route 352 at the intersection of Knowlton Road at approximately 3:01 a.m. on March 3. Following a traffic stop, Corey Ryan Whelan, 24, of Media, was arrested and charged in connection with DUI, according to State Police. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Possession of a Controlled Substance—Park Mount Road at Route 452 at approximately 7:09 p.m. on March 3. A 26-year-old Upland man ran a stop sign at the intersection of Lungren and Park Mount and traffic stop was conducted, according to State Police. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the vehicle's registration was suspended and the driver was in possession of a controlled substance, according to State Police. The man was arrested and charges will be filed in District Court 32-2-48.

One-Vehicle Crash—Route 352 near Old Forge Road at about 5:30 a.m. on March 2. A 1998 Plymouth, driven by a 38-year-old Darby man, failed to negotiate a curve and struck a utility pole, according to State Police. The man was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— and stores at Granite Run Mall at approximately 5:30 p.m. on March 1. Two black, females, between the ages of 25 and 30, removed a total of $628.80 worth of merchandise from the stores without paying, according to State Police. The women then left the mall and got in a black, Pontiac Bonneville and fled the scene, according to State Police.

Theft—Hunter Lane between Feb. 1 and 29. Unknown persons took several feet of copper tubing from a house under construction, according to State Police. Witnesses told police they saw an older model, white truck with rusted quarter panels that had been at the location and did not appear to be a construction vehicle, according to State Police.
