State Police Blotter: Out-of-Gas Car Results in Marijuana Arrest

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft—Elwyn Campus between 2:30 and 3 p.m. on June 19 police investigated a theft at the location.

DUI—Route 352 near Gradyville Road at about 1:20 a.m. on June 18. A 28-year-old Upper Darby man was observed committing numerous traffic violations and a traffic stop was initiated, according to State Police. The man was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, he was taken into custody and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, according to State Police.

Burglary—White Horse Village at Gradyville Road between 1 and 8 a.m. on June 15. Unknown persons entered the residence and a sterling jewelry box and $60 was taken, according to State Police.

Burglary—Glen Riddle Road between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on June 14. Unknown persons gained entry to the house by forcing their way through several interior doors, according to State Police. There did not appear to be anything taken, according to State Police.

Controlled Substance—Park Mount Road at Route 452 at about 6:40 p.m. on June 13. An 18-year-old driver ran out of gas and was stranded in the right lane of Route 1 in front of the State Police Media Barracks and a trooper assisted in removing the vehicle from the lane and the vehicle was pushed into a parking lot, according to State Police. When the trooper approached the driver side and asked for identification a strong odor of marijuana was smelled coming from inside the car, according to State Police. Upon further investigation a small amount of marijuana was located in the vehicle, according to State Police. Charges were filed against the 18-year-old Concord Township man.
