State Police Blotter: Police Involved Car Crash Leaves No Major Injuries

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000.

Disorderly Conduct and Harassment–Granite Run Mall at approximately 10:35 p.m. on May 29. Two white, 19-year-old males, one from Media, the other from Chester were involved in a mutual physical fight outside of the mall, State Police said. Both man proceeded to fight in public and cause a public disturbance, State Police said. A summary non-traffic citation was filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Theft from Motor Vehicle–Elwyn Train Station parking lot between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on May 27. An unknown person removed a catalytic converter from a blue Honda CRV, according to State Police.

Retail Theft–Sears Department Store at Granite Run Mall at approximately 3:20 p.m. on May 27. Janyia Tyra Monroe, 26, of Chester City, was arrested and charged in connection with removing $40 worth of clothing from the store, according to State Police. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Crash-Police Vehicle–Providence Road and Meeting House Lane and 3rd streets at approximately 6:38 p.m. on May 25. A police vehicle with its emergency lights and sirens activated was en route to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State and Providence roads and was struck by a Ford Escape at the intersection of Providence Road and Meeting House Lane, according to State Police. The Ford Escape was crossing the intersection, assuming traffic had stopped, and did not see the police vehicle and struck it, according to State Police.

The driver of the Ford Escape was not injured and the Media Borough police officer received medical treatment at Riddle Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. The police vehicle sustained left side damage and the Ford Escape sustained front end damage, according to State Police.

Theft by Unlawful Taking–Framer’s Market Gallery in Edgmont Township between May 13 and 14. An unknown person removed and carried away a Bryant 5600 central air conditioning condenser unit valued at $4,080, according to State Police.
