State Police Blotter: Woman Takes Wedding Dress from Bridal Shop

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Retail Theft— at about 3:30 p.m. on July 10. A 30-year-old Chester woman was trying on a wedding dress while a second, unknown black woman took a gold wedding dress and fled the store, according to State Police. The Chester woman fled shortly after in a white Cadillac Escalade and was later stopped and identified near her residence, according to State Police. The unknown woman was not in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop but an inventory search of the vehicle revealed what appeared to be a clear bag with a gold dress in the rear of the vehicle, according to State Police. The vehicle was brought to the Media Barracks and a search warrant will be obtained, according to State Police.

DUI Crash—Intersection of Route 352 and Old Forge Road at about 8:51 a.m. on July 9. Police responded to a two-vehicle crash and during the crash investigation it was discovered that the driver of the 1998 Honda Civic that caused the crash was under the influence of an unknown drug, according to State Police. The 24-year-old Chester man was taken into custody and taken to Media Barracks for processing, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at at about 3:30 p.m. on July 7. A 25-year-old Upland woman was arrested in connection with retail theft, according to State Police.

Theft by Unlawful Taking—1400 block of W. Baltimore Pike between July 5 and 10. A paint sprayer was taken from the location, according to State Police.

Criminal Mischief— gas station at 200 S. New Middletown Road between July 5 and 6. Unknown persons shot through an unattended, passenger side front window of a white Chevrolet, according to State Police, the bullet exited through the driver's side front window and dented the driver's side rear door of another vehicle parked next to the Chevrolet. A bullet fragment was found on the ground between both vehicles and State Police are currently investigating.

Identity Theft— at between 2 and 3:30 p.m. on July 4. Unknown persons obtained debit card information from an unattended purse and attempted several online purchases with the victim's bank information, according to State Police. One fraudulent transaction of $52.99 was successfully completed, according to State Police.

Retail Theft—at about 6:30 p.m. on June 27. A 33-year-old Middletown, Del. man was arrested in connection with concealing items and leaving the store without paying, according to State Police.
