State Police Blotter: Woman Yells at Store Employees

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Minor Car Crash—Route 1 at the turn around between Route 452 and Rocky Run YMCA on Dec. 9. A Buick Teraza made an unsafe U-turn into the path of a Kia Forte causing the Kia to brake and swerve to avoid contact, State Police said. The Kia struck the center median and cracked its front bumper and windshield, State Police said. No one was injured and the driver of the Buick was cited, State Police said.

Criminal Mischief—Penn State-Brandywine on Yearlsey Mill Road between Dec. 8 and 9. Unknown persons caused a small amount of damage on the campus, State Police said.

Burglary—Edgmont Nails and Hair Cuttery at Edgmont Square Shopping Center between Dec. 8 and 9. An unknown person broke a front pane of glass at both businesses, State Police said. Once inside Hair Cuttery the persons removed a bank envelope with $350, went through drawers and cabinets and took the cash register drawer, State Police said. While inside Edgmont Nails the persons looked through nearly all the worker stations and knocked over the cash register but the owners kept no money in the store and the persons left empty handed, State Police said. Approximate loss between the two businesses is $620 and approximate damage is $3,600, State Police said.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle—Tyler Drive in Edgmont Township between Dec. 8 and 9. An unknown person entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and removed his wallet containing $350, a credit card and driver's license, State Police said, however everything except the cash was located on the property about 50 feet from the car.

Retail Theft—Kohl's at Granite Run Mall at approximately 2:28 p.m. on Dec. 8. A white woman wearing a green jacket and pushing a baby stroller removed three boxes of kids footwear and walked into the ladies fitting room, State Police said. When the woman left the room the footwear was gone, State Police said. The woman left the store and fled in a red Ford SUV, State Police said.

Simple Assault—Elwyn Road at approximately 7 p.m. on Dec. 8. A 59-year-old Springfield man attacked and grabbed the victim from behind and choked her with his right arm, State Police said. The victim also had scratches on her chest, State Police said.

Simple Assault—Woodland Avenue at approximately 10:04 p.m. on Dec. 7. A woman was verbally and physically abused by a 22-year-old man, State Police said. The man also continued to damage property within the residence, State Police said. Charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Disorderly Conduct— at Granite Run Mall at approximately 4:57 p.m. on Dec. 6. A 38-year-old Aston woman returned to the store after being instructed by the store manager to leave, State Police said. The woman made unwanted conversation with store employees, used derogatory language and pushed a computer receipt printer and a computer keyboard off the retail counter, State Police said. The woman than left the store. Charges will be filed in District Court 32-2-43.

Harassment—Deep Meadow Drive in Edgmont Township at approximately 8:46 p.m. on Dec. 6. A 48-year-old Newtown Square man called the victim at her home with the intent to harass, annoy or alarm, State Police said.

Retail Theft— at the Granite Run Mall at approximately 8:13 p.m. on Dec. 6. Two juvenile girls from Chester City removed clothing valued at $281 from the store without paying, State Police said. Summary and misdemeanor charges were separately filed on both girls, State Police said. Charges will be filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Harassment—Elwyn Institute at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 5. A 15-year-old girl from Linwood, Pa. was in a verbal argument with school staff and slapped two victims, State Police said. The girl was cited for harassment and released to school officials, State Police said.

DUI—S. Old Middletown Road near Indian Lane School at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 5. A 22-year-old from Media was operating her vehicle in an erratic manner and stopped her vehicle on a berm, State Police said. She exhibited signs of drug use and was subsequently arrested for DUI after failing field soberity tests, State Police said.

Propulsion of Missile—S. Old Middletown Road at Smedley Avenue at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Dec. 1. Unknown persons threw a pumpkin at the victim's vehicle and broke the driver side front light fixture, State Police said.
