Tree Brings Down Wires on Kirk Lane

Also, a gas line was struck in a separate incident, police say.

Gas Line Struck—200 block of Birnam Woods Drive at about 9:55 a.m. on Feb. 13. A contractor struck a gas line at a residence, according to police. PECO was notified and turned off the gas.

Theft—900 block of Orange Street at about 12:31 pm. on Feb. 12. The victims reported that cooper was removed from a vacant residence, according to police. The baseboard heat had been removed from the wall and the cooper taken and several pieces of cooper were removed from the ceiling in the basement and the heater, according to police.

Hazardous Conditions—Kirk Lane and Roberts Road at about 12:06 p.m. on Feb. 12. A tree from a property on Courtney Lane fell but was braced by another tree and branches were resting on high tension wires causing charring of the branches, according to police. A power outage occurred in the area and Kirk Lane was shut down due to falling branches, according to police. PECO was notified and at about 5:46 p.m. PECO advised they had removed the tree from the wires and it needed to be removed from the roadway, according to police.
