Upper Providence Police Blotter: Bronze Vases Taken from Cemetery

Here is a list of recent incidents in Upper Providence Township reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 610-566-8445. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Hazardous Driving—Rose Tree Road and Ridley Creek Road at about 12:18 p.m. on July 9. Police received a report of a reckless driver, operating a dark-colored motorcycle without a helmet, according to police. The man was passing cars in a no passing zone and was last seen heading toward Route 252, according to police.

Lost Dog—on July 8. A resident reported that her brown and white Sheltie, named Shelby, was lost and last seen near on Route 252, according to police.

Soliciting—Azalea Lane at about 4:14 p.m. on July 6. Two solicitors were seen in the area selling children's books but were gone once police arrived, according to police. The solicitors were believed to be the same ones who were seen in the area earlier in the week, according to police. 

Theft—Media Cemetery on Kirk Lane at about 2:30 p.m. on July 6. Over the past two weeks, unknown persons removed two bronze vases from a grave in the section near N. Orange Street, according to police. Flowers were also removed and left laying in the area, according to police.

Soliciting—Letitia Lane at about 8:15 p.m. on July 5. A white man with blonde hair driving a Mitsubishi with Maryland tags was identified as selling children's books for Southwestern Advantage without proper township registration, according to police. The man was advised not to solicit unless he obtained a permit, according to police.

Suspicious Vehicle— at about 5:50 p.m. on July 4. An unknown person observed a suspicious vehicle, with Delaware tags, entering the business' parking lot after hours, according to police.

Disorderly Conduct—Paxon Hollow Road at about 10:37 p.m. on July 3. Three people were lighting fireworks but indicated to police that they did not have any more fireworks in their possession, according to police. Police confiscated a launching device and the individuals were warned not to light anymore fireworks, according to police.

Theft—Upper Providence Police Station at about 11:40 a.m. on July 2. The victim arrived at the station to report the theft of 75 red and white DB Enterprises signs that were placed on lawns where the company is working, according to police. The signs cost $13 each for a total loss of about $975, according to police.
