Woman Struck in Hit-And-Run, Police Say

The woman was transported to the hospital but the extent of her injuries are unknown, police say.

A woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Edgmont Township, police say.

A 19-year-old Newtown Square woman was walking on the side of Providence Road towards West Chester Pike at about 1:11 p.m. on June 26, according to State Police-Media Barracks. 

A white Pontiac came up behind her swerving and weaving on the roadway and struck the woman as she was walking, according to State Police, the Pontiac immediately then fled the scene. 

The woman suffered injuries and was transported to Paoli Hospital, according to State Police. Although the extent of her injuries were unknown. 

State Police and surrounding police departments searched the area for the Pontiac but could not find it. 

The Pontiac sustained moderate damage to its right front corner, according to State Police.
