DA Files Criminal Charges Against Newtown Twp. Officials
The District Attorney Office announced the filing of criminal charges against a Newtown supervisor, tax collector and township employees.
District Attorney G. Michael Green announced Monday that criminal charges were filed against four officials.
The charges stem from allegations the officials used the township's FedEx account for personal use.
Board of Supervisors Chairman George Wood, 68, of Newtown Square; township tax collector Marie Louise Richards, 58, of Newtown Square; administrative assistant to the township manager Gwen Toyzer, 48, of Havertown–who has been connected to the original in the past several months; and assistant to the township manager George Clement Jr., 68, of Newtown Square were all charged with theft by unlawful taking and related offenses.
